‘Gautama’

Seduction is a crime.

And, adultery.

The gods poked nose and medled

into the struggle of the petit.

(a)

Here-

Ahalya is a courtesan

Dancing to unknown numbers,

Nimble to unheard songs.

The court would despise her

one fine, odd day.

His Majesty is always fond of her.

(b)

And, we know-

Gautama is resolute,

humble and allows

no cloud over her.

A staunch admirer.

A lover.

When His Majesty fondled her affluently,

Gautama suffered; showered his reluctant anathema,

waits to see the doom fall

upon her.

Gautama has always been a sage, but

a temporal sage.
